Setting up your node’s withdrawal address

Please be careful while performing the address change activity make sure you are using the Ethereum address to which you have access. We recommend to kindly go through the document first and If there is anything you find which is confusing let us know at support@launchnodes.com you can also book a slot with our engineering team using this link if you need their support in performing address change activity.

Withdrawals

These instructions are for Ethereum Validator node owners on mainnet who now want to enable withdrawals on their nodes. There are 2 types of withdrawal

  1. Consensus layer staking returns referred to as skimming

  2. Withdrawals or unstaking of the 32 Ether on your node.

Changing your address

In order to enable withdrawals on your nodes you need to change the withdrawal prefix.

The withdrawal prefix value is currently either 0x00 or 0x01. You need to change 0x00 to 0x01 to enable the withdrawal process and allow you to start receiving your staking returns into a wallet of your choice. This wallet address will be the address that your 32 ETH goes to when you decide to unstake the principal from your validator node.

*Validator nodes contain a field referred to as the ‘withdrawal credentials’. The first two bytes of this credential are called the withdrawal prefix.

You can learn more about withdrawals here.
